The cards having a very dismal season. They have had devastating injury after injury and they have not been able to get anything substantial going. However, the season is not without it's bright spots.
Albert Pujols is showing his average numbers with a .311 BA, 24 bombs, and 75 RBI's. Chris Duncan is following close with 20 round-trippers, and 59 RBI's as of Aug. 11. Another shining spot the last few games has been the unlikely return of former pitcher, Rick Ankiel. Light's out pitcher who lost his control and couldn't find the plate last year, returns to MLB as an outfielder for the Cards in a BIG way.
In the last three games, he's hit 3 homeruns (2 in today's game alone) not to mention outstanding defensive play in rightfield. Do I expect him to keep up this performance on a consistant basis? No, but he's definitely turning some heads. Mine included.
