Wow!! I can't believe it's been over a month already since I last put anything on here. I guess time really does get away from us every once in a while. Well, let's see if I can put a quick recap on things...
School is going pretty well. There was a little "drama" with class schedules there for a few days toward the beginning of school. I was teaching three Physical Training classes (team teaching with another teacher in one of them), but the administrators decided to pull me out of that one and create another PE class to help with the huge class sizes in other PE classes. So, now I'm teaching a PE class along with the two PT classes.
Overall, the classes are going great! Progress Reports (midterms) were just posted the week before last, and I think the lowest grade in all three classes was a low C, or high D (only because of attendance issues for those students). There haven't been too many disciplinary problems and for the most part, the kids all work hard. I love it.
Basketball is quickly approaching. I started running an open-gym for all boys and girls interested in playing ball two mornings a week. We're pulling in around 15-20 students on average, so a pretty good turn out if you ask me. Also, both me and the boys head coach stay after school on those days and do voluntary basketball conditioning. As you can imagine, all of this keeps me pretty busy.
I keep talking out new ideas for this season with my two assistant coaches. We're all really excited about the possibilities and challenges of the upcoming season. Last year, I was new to the school and the program, and I only had two weeks to prep for the season. It's a lot better being able to plan 2 months in advance, haha.
Now, for the personal side...some friends and I took a trip to Phoenix last weekend to catch a couple of D-Backs games vs. the Cardinals. It was an awesome time, even though the Cardinals lost both games we were at. But, on the other hand they were still awesome games. They both felt like playoff baseball. It was great!
I'm an Uncle for the 4th time over now. My sister C- gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Veronica. She sent pics out to the family, and all I have to say is, Thank God she looks like her mom! :P
Oh yeah, and finally...IT'S FINALLY FOOTBALL SEASON and my 49ers are 2-0!!! Yeah! I know it's early, but still let me have my celebration where I can. I've gotten my butt pounded in fantasy league so far. Of course, when Carson Palmer throws for over 400yds and 6TD's...what do you expect. :/ Oh well, it's all good. Well, I'm out. Peace!!
